Embodied Design

Action-based designs

Action-based embodied designs require multitouch equipment, such as a tablet or an interactive whiteboard. As our designs are discovery-based, we deliberately do not publish the target mathematical concepts and invite you to discover mathematical rules behind the design constraints yourself. Alternatively, check the links below each activity to read about mathematical content and access to scholarly publications.

To use the activities open a link by pressing on one of the pictures below. In each design, there are movable points (grey circles) and some color feedback. You need to move the points following the instructions:

  1. Move the points (or one point) and make the feedback green.
  2. Find another green position.
  3. Keep the feedback green (move the points in a way that the feedback would be green all the time). It is rather challenging but possible in each case!
  4. When you are fluent (let your body to practice at first!), reflect what is the rule that determines the green color of the feedback.
  5. Move to the next task by listing the tasks on the bottom of the screen.
