Embodied design genres
Inspired by embodied cognition approach, educational designers work within different design genres. They present mathematics through discovery-based sensory-motor activities. Yet, mathematical understanding might be grounded in different sources:
- in a new motor coordination (action-based embodied designs),
- in a naive perception that is being developed towards cultural forms of seeing (perception-based embodied designs),
- in bodily imitation of previously seen mathematical performance (incorporation-based embodied designs), and so on.
